~  Phumzile Mlambo-Ncguka – From 2005 to 2008, she served as the Deputy President of South Africa (at that time the highest ranking woman in the history of South Africa).  She currently serves as the Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Director of United Nations Women.

~  Ambassador Andrew Young – Appointed by former USA President Jimmy Carter, Young was the first African American to be appointed as the United States Ambassador to the United Nations.
